Buttree takes a silver in taekwondo Beijing - Thailand's Buttree Puedpong won a silver medal in women's taekwondo on Wednesday, after losing the championship match to Wu Jingyu of China in the under-49 kilogram me class.
Wu won Wednesday's final on points but not without a tough fight from the Thai.
The Chinese woman took the lead in the first round with a chest kick to Buttree.
In the second round, Wu narrowly missed on a high kick to Buttree's head late in the second round that hit the Thai in the shoulder and sent her to the mat. Buttree had a point deducted in the third round, putting her in negative territory and Wu held on for the win.
